Well I've changed a lot since I started this blog... not just in my attitude towards life but also in the way I look ... so here's a series of mug shots of me from the last year of so....

Well as some of you know and most of wont know, I've spent just over a year out here in France living in a caravan next to a medieval castle, working as a volunteer helping restore the place. I did pop home briefly over Christmas and new years last winter.. but came back out as soon as I could....

In my time out here I've learnt a lot, about my trade and other trades.. about what you really need in life, about how little money you can really live on... about what really matters in life and about many other things too... like being able to open a bottle of wine with a shoe.....

Yes this post is a continuation of the last??? you ask me why (or how as the Scottish bloke here would say)
well last time I wrote I just updated you on the happenings here at château de noirlieu, but I didn't tell you why the post was called "end of the line".... there were several reasons for this title... the largest of them is because its the end of the line for my time here at the château, I'm heading home in just a little under 2 weeks.... I was planning on driving home but alas last weekend was the end of the line for my car..... (ill go into that more later) so instead of driving back I'm having to pay for my mate Gary (who bought me out earlier this year) to drive out again and take me and my tools back to the UK... back to reality and a normal life.... no more drunken Tuesday's, just cos its Tuesday.... No more 20 meter commute to work in the mornings... No more living in my little caravan and no more completely clear nights to watch stars on... (the night sky here is one of the starriest I've ever seen)

the end of the line

Wow its been about a month since I did a update on my travels and how things are ticking on at the château.... so here's a short summery of the last month....

its only a car...

Well today/yesterday is a bit of a sad day.... I'll explain a little. Back home in the uk a I have a car, well not just any cars its a 1986 mini Mayfair its was my first (second) car and its been mine for 7 years, several of those years its been off of the road due to mechanical and accident issues, but still the times I've had it on the road have been great, no matter how down I have been, going for a drive in her has made me happy (yes my car is a she and she's called dot or dotty her reg plate ends in DOT hence the name)

So I decided it was time to sell her, so got my Ma to put a add in her window...... and she has sold.... I really don't want to sell her, I'm very attached to her.... but I cant afford to maintain her and I need a more practical motor when I get home. The only way I can afford to get a new/bigger car is to sell my little mini....  soo that's what I have to do...
